A Premium Feel for a Premium School

A leader among private schools in Chicago, GEMS World Academy—day school for grades K-12—was set to open it's doors for the first time ever in 2013. They were looking for a new viewbook to kickstart their enrollment period for their future founding students. As a primary goal, this viewbook would work to enforce the elite quality of a GEMS education as well as their progressive pillars for a more technology focused learning style. The construction of their new campus was a great base for us to take new photography and show off their new facilities.

In the ideation process of what we wanted this viewbook to look like, we went to visit the school to really get a feel for the type of environment it offered. Immediately upon entering the lobby I felt the need for a book that not only read premium, but felt premium. Working alongside previous print vendors that I had maintained relationships with, I designed a viewbook complete with UV inks, subtle embossing and elegant die-cuts.
